Dear Valued Clients, Customers and Colleagues,

With the sun sweltering in Alice Springs, we’re taking an opportunity to have a short and sweet summer break. We will be closed from the 12th Feb – 24th Feb. Emails will only be checked sporadically, but for any urgent issues please email kate@talapi.com.au

If you have any enquiries, please contact us before the 12th of February, otherwise we will respond as soon as possible after the 24th. Thank you all for your support over the Christmas and New Year holiday season! We look forward to re-opening with a brand new exhibition schedule!

Kate, Karyna and the Talapi Team.

Talapi, based in the heart of Alice Springs was established in October 2011 to promote the artists and artworks of Desart member Aboriginal art centres.

Director Kate Podger has worked directly with Aboriginal art centres for over 15 years, having spent 4 years as curator of Araluen Arts Centre and was curator of the 27th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award at MAGNT in 2010. Together with her co director and partner Thijl Duvekot, they have created a beautiful art space in the Todd Mall dedicated to the promotion of Central desert art sourced directly from Aboriginal-owned art centres.

Talapi is happy to assist both collectors and first time art buyers in selecting art works from over 40 regional/remote art centres to suit a variety of budgets and styles. Every artwork is supported by accurate documentation from the art centres, and our staff are well informed.

Talapi hosts regular curated exhibitions that allow art collectors to enjoy the work from established artists and learn about new and upcoming names in Aboriginal art.

As a member of the Indigenous Art Code, we are committed to ethical trade in Indigenous art as a means to support economic development in remote communities.

Friendly and informed staff can assist with any logistics and freight for both domestic and international customers.
