Talapi, established in October 2011, is Alice Springs newest gallery and aims to promote the artists and artworks of Desart member Aboriginal art centres.

Director Kate Podger has worked directly with Aboriginal art centres for over 12 years with 4 years experience as curator of Araluen Arts Centre and was curator of 27th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award at MAGNT in 2010.
Together with her co director and partner Thijl Duvekot, they have created a beautiful art space in Todd Mall dedicated to the promotion of Central desert art sourced directly from Aboriginal owned art centres.

Collectors and first time art buyers can be assisted to select art works from over 30 regional art centres to suit a variety of budget and styles all supported with informed accurate information.

Talapi hosts regular curated exhibitions that allow art collectors to enjoy the work from established artists and learn about new and upcoming names in Aboriginal art.

We are committed to ethical trade in indigenous art as a means to support economic development in remote communities and is a member of the Indigenous Art Code.

Friendly informed staff can assist with logistics and freight for both domestic and international customers with TNT or Australia Post.
